Please join Lambda Alpha International’s Baltimore Chapter for our Virtual Presentation on Wednesday, March 17th at 12pm concerning the planned transformation of the Annapolis City Dock
. The aim of the work is to make the City Dock into a world-class, pedestrian friendly recreational area that is resilient from flooding while maintaining adequate parking for local businesses.

The approach used by the City of Annapolis was to convene the City Dock Action Committee, a task force of competing interests, including residents, store owners, boaters, Historic Annapolis, and the minority community, as well as representatives from the City, Anne Arundel County, the State of Maryland, the Naval Academy and the National Park Service. The report of the Committee led to the City entering into a public-private partnership with a development group to rebuild the nearby Hillman Garage and to redevelop the City Dock.
Our speaker will be Eileen Fogarty, co-chair of the Committee and Project Director. As Director of Planning and Development for the City of Santa Monica, CA, Ms. Fogarty led the successful adoption and implementation of the City’s first Sustainable General Plan. As Director of Planning for the City of Alexandria, VA, she led the development of Eisenhower East, a 238-acre, 17-million-square-foot urban town center in Alexandria, VA, within walking distance of two Metro stations. And, in Santa Cruz, CA, she managed the rebuilding of the downtown after the 1989 earthquake.
