  City and Impacts of EBDI\nDr. Brett Theodos\, Senior Fellow and Director
 \nThe Community Economic Development Hub\n\n&nbsp\;\nCan investment dispar
 ities be reversed for particular neighborhoods? The East Baltimore Develop
 ment Initiative (EBDI) is one of the nation’s largest\, longest standing
 \, and most prominent comprehensive community initiatives\, with over $1B 
 of investment since 2003. Join us for a research presentation examining ho
 w Baltimore is doing overall in accessing private\, public\, and mission c
 apital flows. And we will do a deep dive on EBDI and the neighborhood wher
 e works. The research uses a rigorous method to test the effects of EBDI r
 elative to comparison communities.In advance of the June Presentation\, we
  wanted to share some articles that Brett has posted about the EBDI proje

 nDr. Brett Theodos\nSenior Fellow and Director\nThe Community Economic Dev
 elopment Hub\n\nDr. Theodos directs the Community Economic Development Hub
  at the Urban Institute where he is a senior fellow. Dr. Theodos is a lead
 ing researcher in mission finance\, place-based development\, and small bu
 siness outcomes. His work includes studies of the SBA and other small busi
 ness loan and investment programs\, the Economic Development Administratio
 n\, Opportunity Zones\, New Markets Tax Credits\, the Community Developmen
 t Block Grant and Section 108 program\, and Choice Neighborhoods programs.
  He has evaluated large place-based initiatives in Atlanta\, Baltimore\, a
 nd San Diego. He is studying how capital flows (or fails to flow) into com
 munities\, and the roles of the public sector\, philanthropy\, and nonprof
 its like CDFIs. Dr. Theodos helped start and serves on the Board of the Do
 uglass Community Land Trust in Washington DC\, and serves on the boards of
  the Housing Authority of Prince George’s County MD and the Center for C
 ommunity Progress.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
