LEW Update as of 1/18/18

We welcome you – our Baltimore LAI members and guests – to join our out-of-town guests for this special optional activity before the official beginning of our Baltimore Land Economics Weekend – Thursday, April 26 early afternoon curator-led tours of the Peabody Institute and George Peabody Library of Johns Hopkins University and The Walters Art Museum. 

Begin with a walk through THE PEABODY, the oldest music conservatory in the U.S. and see the fabled Library with 5 stacked tiers of wrought iron balconies, considered one of the most beautiful and distinctive libraries in the U.S.http://peabody.jhu.edu/explore-peabody/our-history/

Walk across the street to THE WALTERS ART MUSEUM and be enveloped in another era of art and sculpture. https://thewalters.org/

TOUR GUIDES
The group will be accompanied by LAI member Tara Clifford and Walters Docent Carol Doctrow.
The Peabody tour will be led by the Curator of the George Peabody Library.
The Walters tour will be led by the Walters’ Associate Curator of Eighteenth- and Nineteenth-Century Art.

TOUR TIMING
We will meet at Pier 5 Hotel lobby on Thursday, April 26 at 1:15 p.m. and will be transported to The Peabody Institute and The Walters Art Museum for docent-led tours.  We will bring you back to Pier 5 Hotel with time for you to relax before The President’s Reception  – the official LEW kick-off – that is being held at 6 p.m. at the “Top of the World” World Trade Center in the Inner Harbor.
